InsideOut Team
We have a passionate team of professionals within the InsideOut team, that can offer a range of support to children, young people and families. Below details the therapeutic roles within the InsideOut Team and who these roles can support in school.
Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP’s)
These roles will work in school settings providing low intensity CBT sessions for children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and low mood. Exploring cycles of thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how a young person can learn to break out of negative cycles. CBT will aim to breakdown a presenting difficulty and identify how to change negative patterns to hopefully improve wellbeing. The focus will be on current events and difficulties rather than the past. EMHPs are also trained FRIENDS RESILIENCE facilitators which is an evidence based group intervention aimed at supporting children and young people to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms and increase resilience, self confidence, self efficacy, self esteem and social emotional skills.
High Intensity CBT Practitioners (HI CBT)
These roles will offer medium term therapy to those who are experiencing moderate depression, social, generalised or separation anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or body image dissatisfaction. HI CBT practitioners will work with low-moderate risk such as self harm or suicidal ideation.
Counsellors
This role will provide one to one therapy aimed at improving psychological and wellbeing recovery outcomes for children and young people. This will have a focus on issues impacting on children and young people such as bereavement, loss, trauma, relationships and impacts of family issues and issues that may emerge due to the impact of Covid-19 on mental health.
Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP’s) Coordinators
These roles involve supporting the workforce, specifically EMHPs and trainees with
developing high quality whole school activities, as well as embedding whole school
approach and increasing school engagement. They deliver a range of mental health interventions, including group work or direct work with CYP as well as offering specialist mental health-based consultation, and advice around mental health. They also work closely with educational staff to identify CYP with emerging mental health needs.
Other Roles Within The MHST;
Service Managers
Service managers are allocated specific schools to "look after" we forge and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage waiting lists, manage risk, plan, implement and evaluate new strategies and processes with a view to improving the service, they provide CCMS for some members of staff. Schedule team meetings, Inform the wider workforce of the service and what we can provide. Make decisions based on the best interest of the service.
Administrative Assistants
Admin Assistants are our team's first point of contact. Their role is to answer the phones, schedule Care Planning Meetings and intervention appointments, process discharges, upload referrals, update waiting lists, send letters, process mileage and answer general queries from staff, other professional and service users.
